About Classic Dance Company and Annette Thompson
Annette Thompson has been dancing since she was a small child. She began with ballet and eventually expanded her studies into tap, jazz, pointe, and musical theatre. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with an concentration in Dance and Gymnastics from San Diego State University. While in college, Annette competed with the San Diego State University gymnastics team. She has also completed over 25 units of graduate dance course work at Texas Women’s University.
Throughout her career Annette has studied at Lois Ellyn Ballet Studio; Steven Peck Jazz, Tap, and Ballet Studio; Luigi Jazz at Southern Methodist University; mime and musical theatre at California State University Fullerton; North Texas Ballet Academy; and Song N Dance Studio. Annette has also performed in many musicals at school, colleges, and with the Fullerton Civic Light Opera in Fullerton, California.
Annette has taught dance to children and adults for Fullerton Recreation Department, Plano Recreation Department, Aztec Gymnastics, North Orange County YMCA, Valley Ranch Baptist Preschool, and Song N Dance Studio. After teaching in these venues for many years, she saw a need for dance classes among day care students. Classic Dance Company was born. The company is dedicated to providing high quality dance classes to these students. Annette has been successfully teaching ballet and tap in day care centers for over 12 years.
